Absolutely amazing! We found it very informative and fun!It was such a lovely experience and we enjoyed every second of it!
I have always considered myself very connected to nature but having spent 3 days at the Festival of Nature it’s like my senses have been reset! The swifts are screeching louder, the dandelion heads are fluffier, there seems to be more tree species than I have ever noticed before on my local dog walk. It was a joy to be surrounded by so many organisations and individuals who all care about nature in so many different ways, from the hedgehogs in their West Cumbrian gardens to the hugely inspirational tales of the keynote speakers who had travelled from all over the UK to be here in Workington. What a lineup. From the smallest Small Blue butterfly to magnificent bison there really was something for everyone. I loved walking around the site and finding people of all ages and backgrounds connecting and learning in ways which our busy lives don’t often allow us to. It struck me how important these kinds of gatherings are for restoring hope that we really can make a difference, we aren’t the only ones taking action and maybe, just maybe, thanks to us all our children might actually be able to encounter more wildlife than we currently do ourselves. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this wonderful event, it was truly a weekend to remember.
There was 6 of us , we just come in the Sunday as wasn’t aware of it until Saturday, we loved every minute, the location was amazing to!! I hope it happens again and we def be camping next time 💜
A beautiful location that was organised well. The ecpertise, passion and warm welcome shared by everyone was engaging and inspiring.
A jam-packed event that engaged all ages.
Such a great achievement, well done everyone. I really enjoyed the talks I attended - very well pitched to be interesting to novice and more experienced - and I met some really great people and organisations that I’ll be back in touch with. My boys enjoyed the activities they took part in. The site was beautiful - so much bigger than it first appeared! - and the weather you booked was spectacular! A big well done x
Well done, lots of very interesting talks, it takes a lot of hard work organising events like this and you managed it really well. relax and enjoy what is left of Sunday. Might I suggest that if you run it again a PA system might be useful if possible a separate tent for exhibitors.
Fabulous time! Glorious weather! So relaxing and informative , something for everyone! Well done everyone!
Just came for the day on the Saturday and really really enjoyed it. The talks were so interesting and the site was accessible and super cute. Thanks to all involved!
I’m coming in
Cumbria Amphibian and Reptile Group - Excellent day.
Well organised, smooth running.
Variety of organisations, talks, activities.
Something for everyone.
We had a stand in the marquee, and it was well attended, but I think some visitors felt they couldn't talk /discuss things due to speakers on at the same time - didn't want to cause distraction during talks.
We all really enjoyed it!!!!!
